Newsgroups are
something like messageboards. Everybody, who have
access to a newsserver can send (post) messages
and download messages. That can be only messages
with text, or they can also have an attachment
like for example a picture or an avi-file.
Because a good newsserver carries over 70000
different Newsgroups it is a good place where
everybody can find something what he is
searching. You can try to get access to a
"free" newsserver, but mostly they
carries not very much newsgroups and also not
very much messages. In some newsgroups there come
in every day over 1000 new messages, and the
newsserver keeps them one or two weeks or longer.
I recommend to get an access to a commercial
newsserver, although it costs around 10$, but it
is worth. I will place some "Links" at
the bottom of this page.
There are two ways you can read newsgroups. One
way is to read them with your Web-Browser, but
then you must look for a newsserver which makes
this possible.
The other way is to read newsgrougs with a
special program, a newsreader. I recommend this
way, because it is more comfortable.
